Fears of a ground invasion of Gaza have grown, with 370 Palestinian deaths and 600 Israelis reported. Hamas’s operation followed Israeli settler attacks, tensions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and a record number of Palestinian deaths.

Palestinians will fight against Israeli occupation until it is lifted: Ambassador

Palestine’s ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot, has expressed hope that the recent fighting in the Middle East will serve as a wake-up call for the world to continue fighting for Palestinian rights. Zomlot believes that the Palestinian people have the right to defend themselves and will continue to struggle for 100 years or more.

He emphasized that Western nations should not give Israel carte blanche over international law and bypass the Palestinian issue. Zomlot emphasized the need for a Palestinian sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital and equal application of international law for Palestinian refugees.
