European Union foreign ministers convened in Kyiv to discuss Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s invasion and discuss President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposed peace formula.
The meeting signaled the EU’s unwavering support for Ukraine and underscored its commitment to the country. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell emphasized the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and the free world in winning the confrontation. Zelensky emphasized the need for new steps in defense, diplomacy, politics, integration, economy, and sanctions to strengthen common positions. He called for increased defense support for Ukraine and protection of life, and emphasized the importance of maximizing Ukraine’s sky shield reinforcements in the run-up to winter. The presence of air defense systems like Patriot and Iris-T could significantly change the situation and make Russian terror meaningless.
